Around the house . . . I'll be getting ready for the children coming to visit on the 14th

One of my favorite things . . . the kids coming to visit

May 4th, 2009

FOR TODAY . . . a big warm welcome to the month of May. Besides flowers, May brings First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Graduations, Memorial Day picnics and parades and best of all - MOTHER'S DAY.

Outside my window . . . bright sunshine, warm temps and a lovely breeze making the day just about perfect.

I am thinking . . . that if I want the little getaway planned for next week to happen then I better start calling for reservations today.

It's a toss up between Captiva Beach on Siesta Key and Tortuga Inn on Anna Maria Island.

I am thankful for . . . the friends who rescued me when my golf cart ran out of juice and left me stranded yesterday evening. I put it on the charger as soon as Bob Peznik towed me home.

From the learning room . . . nothing right now . . . for those of us who think they know everything it's difficult to find something new to learn each week. *grin*

From the kitchen . . . just finished breakfast; a cherry Pillsbury toaster streudel, big glass of oj and a cup of coffee. A few dishes in the sink but I'll do those when I'm done here.

I am wearing . . . white shorts, pink/white stripe tee top and sandals

I am creating . . . a new garden area around the a/c unit in the back of the house.

I am going . . . to go to play po-ke-no this evening then hand and foot afterwards

I am reading . . . "Generally Speaking" by Lt. Gen. Claudia J. Kennedy (Ret.). A memoir by the first woman promoted to three-star General in the United States Army

I am hoping . . . to find a new groomer for Dahli. I don't want her to look like a schnauzer anymore and hopefully someone new can help her look more like a lhasa.

I am hearing . . . the porch screens are blowing in the breeze

Around the house . . . Bob Noyes is supposed to wash my house today. I spent a lot of time and energy this morning getting ready for him to come so he better show otherwise he will be in the doghouse around here.

One of my favorite things . . . is going to the beach.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . haircut tomorrow for me, Dahli to the groomer on Thursday, make reservations for my little get-a-way, volunteer at Samaritan's Touch, playing cards along with any other surprises the Lord sends my way this week.

April 27th, 2009

FOR TODAY . . .

Outside my window . . . another gorgeous sunny day

I am thinking . . . that I need to call Miller's Air Conditioning to check my unit

I am thankful for . . . all my neighbors who made the trip back home safely

From the learning room . . . how to shuffle a deck of cards. It's embarassing to admit but the truth is I never played cards very much after college and when I did others always shuffled.

From the kitchen . . . fruit, fruit and more fruit. Overdid shopping for fruit yesterday. I have a small container of cut-up cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, pineapple and watermelon which I snacked on in the car on my way home from Publix. For the rest of the week, I have a fourth of a watermelon and 2 containers of strawberries. Yummmmmy!

I am wearing . . . white capri's, magenta tee top and sandals

I am creating . . . more stuff for the bathroom. A wood cutout that says "BEACH" and is decorated with shells and a wood cutout that says "RELAX" on the window sill above the toilet tank. Conversation pieces, you know?

I am going . . . to go to po-ke-no this evening followed by hand and foot

I am reading . . . "The Believer" by Nicholas Sparks

I am hoping . . . that the electrician figures out why I don't have any electricity in the great room

I am hearing . . . country music playing softly in the background.

Around the house . . . a big project for tomorrow morning. Clean out the shed and get it moved so the electrician can get to my outdoor outlet

One of my favorite things . . . a plant called 'baby tears'.

A few plans for the rest of the week . . . along with all the regular stuff I'm wondering what wonderful surprises the Lord sends my way this week.

Here is picture thought I am sharing . . .
