FOR TODAY: A combination of happy and sad.
Today is Don Lane's funeral in Brandenburg KY. He's been in & out of the hospital for the last 4 months and lost his battle on August 4th. We know he is in a better place but Don's loss has deeply wounded our community.
On the happy side: I'm hosting our Ice Cream Social today so I'll be busy getting things ready.
Outside my window . . . The sun is just beginning to peek over the horizon and is growing stronger by the second.
I am thinking . . . that having an Ice Cream Social today is a great idea. Since the Ice Cream Social on the 8th day of the 8th month, we are honoring all our guests in their 80's.
I am thankful . . . for Lake Bonnet Village . . . this wonderful community that I am so blessed to live in.
In the kitchen . . . chopping peanuts for the ice cream social.
I am wearing . . . pj's & a grey hoodie.
I am creating . . . some gifties for our 80 year old honorees at the Ice Cream Social today.
I am going . . . to take all the stuff we need over to the West Clubhouse early as soon as I get done here.
I am wondering . . . if we'll have a good turnout for the Ice Cream Social
Around the house . . . you will see piles of stuff for today's party.
One of my favorite things . . . ice cream, of course.
A few plans for the rest of the week . . the ice cream social this afternoon at the West Clubhouse, Dahli's annual check-up at the Vet on Wednesday and a trip to the groomer on Thursday. Sounds like a 'dog's week' to me.
Here is picture I am sharing . . . Don Lane.
